Osmose
Osmose is one of those producers you fall for from the very first sip. Camille and Pierre craft wines that combine precision with personality, offering an immediacy and energy that are hard to find – and even harder to resist.
The style is taut, vibrant and deeply rooted in terroir. The Chenins balance chalky minerality, salinity and ripe fruit, while the Cabernet Franc is juicy, crisp and irresistibly fresh. What unites them is a sense of purity and lightness that makes the wines every bit as charming as they are serious.
Based in the Loire Valley, with vineyards in both Saumur and Anjou, Osmose may be a young estate, but the wines display remarkable confidence and clarity. Above all, they reflect a clear ambition to express the character of their origin with honesty and precision.
The work in the vineyards is shaped by the individuality of each terroir. Old Chenin vines grow on limestone-rich clay soils, while Cabernet Franc comes from sandy parcels, and some of the oldest vineyards have been propagated through massal selection. The result is a range of cuvées with their own distinct identity.
In the cellar, the philosophy is straightforward: gentle extraction, spontaneous fermentation and ageing in used barrels, allowing the fruit rather than the oak to take centre stage. The wines are bottled unfiltered, with a constant focus on preserving the grapes’ natural energy and the purest possible expression of their terroir.
Lieu-dit recommends
Below are our suggestions for wines that are not necessary similar, but stylistically fits some of the same markers as the wine you are currently looking at. For each of the producers we work with, we have tried to answer the question: "If you like the wines from this producer, which other wines from our portfolio would be something you would enjoy?".
