François Crochet

Loire

François Crochet lives in Bué about four kilometers south of Sancerre and was born into a family with a long tradition as local winemakers. It was written in the stars that François would return and take over after having worked with other winegrowers in New Zealand and Bordeaux among other places. Consequently, he took over approximately ten hectares of vineyards in Sancerre in 1998. With François’ presence, the vineyard work has become increasingly more sustainable as all vineyards are now certified organic. The vineyards give relatively low yields, and the grapes are thoroughly sorted at harvest. François Crochet makes classic and consistent Sancerre yet with the freshness and acidity that we always look for from our winemakers.
