Pierre Beauger

Auvergne

Pierre Beauger was born and raised in Auvergne and has been making very personal and individualistic wines since 2001, which almost routinely violate all of the region’s conventions. Also, he consistently refrains from submitting his wines to the obligatory tastings to achieve AOC status as Côtes d’Auvergne.

Pierre originally rented two small plots planted with Chardonnay and Gamay, but today he exclusively makes wine from his own vineyards in Champeix, which he planted in 2004 and 2007. He grows Gamay, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc, but his production is microscopic. Pierre Beauger prefers to harvest late with very high maturity, which often gives him grapes with a high alcohol potential and high concentration. Nevertheless, his wines never feel heavy and clumsy, but rather deep, vibrant and with great aromatic complexity. The vinification takes place without any kind of additives, with minimal intervention and with a great deal of patience.

Unfortunately, we do not have any products in stock from this producer at the moment.
