Les Frères Soulier
Brothers Charles and Guillaume Soulier Lapierre took over their father’s domaine in 2014 in Saint Hilaire d’Ozilhan on the border between the Rhône and Gard. With an extreme degree of care and perfectionism combined with curiosity and a willingness to experiment the brothers have taken the domaine to an impressively high level in just a few years.
The vineyard work is among the best we have seen in the area: Biodynamics, replanting forgotten grape varieties better suited to the terroir, grazing sheep and ploughing with horses are just a few of their inventions. The wines are harmonious and elegant while showing great precision, freshness and often an element of something unexpected. The wines are extremely easy to drink, yet quite often make you contemplate as Les Frères Soulier never follow the beaten path of making Rhône wines as we know it.
Lieu-dit recommends
Below are our suggestions for wines that are not necessary similar, but stylistically fits some of the same markers as the wine you are currently looking at. For each of the producers we work with, we have tried to answer the question: "If you like the wines from this producer, which other wines from our portfolio would be something you would enjoy?".
