2019 Nanna & Pa Pinot Noir

Travis Tausend makes uncompromising wine from Hope Forest on the southern tip of Adelaide Hills, which is one of the coolest microclimates of the area due to its high elevation and cool winds. Travis sees it as his primary task to pass on the cultivated land in better condition than when he took over and his project is not just about making wine but also contributing to his community.

The vineyard work is carried out in great respect for the area’s biodiversity, ten percent of the profits are donated to charities, only solar energy is used in the cellar and all materials (except bottles) are made from 100% recycled materials. Vinification is done with very sparse equipment and without any kind of additives: manual basket press, manual destemming of the grapes, spontaneous fermentation, no pumps, fining or filtration and zero added sulphur. The wines of Travis Tausend are vibrant and refreshing, but more than just “glou glou” wines. Their concentration and structure go hand in hand with an almost weightless drinkability and understated elegance.
