Mario Marengo
Since 2001, the modest 3.5-hectare vineyard Mario Marengo has been run by Marco Marengo, a third-generation winemaker. Marco has gradually pushed the style in a slightly more modern direction, partly by reducing yields and introducing barriques for ageing, without the wines losing their classic expression. Especially for his Barolos, this results in very drinkable and balanced wines, which often exhibit an almost Burgundian expression, while still being unmistakable Nebbiolo.
