2023 Riesling

Since his debut vintage in 2018, Julien Renard has impressed us immensely, and year after year he makes wine of an extremely high quality, which has already earned him a loyal following. The wines are as far from fruity Mosel Riesling with residual sugar as they come. Julien Renard makes dry, razor-sharp and mineral wines with lots of acidity and an impressive balance, and the wines only get better and better with more time in the bottle. Despite their very low sulphur content, the wines stay open and develop for days.

French Julien Renard runs a 0.7-hectare estate in Winningen in Mosel with his girlfriend on extremely steep vineyards, where all work is done by hand and without the use of chemicals. In the cellar, the approach is carried out by using natural fermentation, no bâtonnage, no filtration and long élevage. We always look forward to Julien’s new vintage, and time and time again we are left with a smile on our faces after tasting it.
