Domaine Lapilli
Géraud & Elsa are behind Domaine Lapilli in Puy-de-Dôme south of Clermont-Ferrand. The couple has impressed us immensely with their extremely well-made, pure and elegant wines from their very first 2023 vintage.
The couple owns 5 hectares of 15-60-year-old vines with Pinot Noir, Gamay and Chardonnay on three extinct volcanoes. They produce single-vineyard wines using a hands-off approach to allow the different terroirs to be expressed in the best possible way. Lapilli is also a reference to the area’s soil and the name of the volcanic ash that is emitted during a volcanic eruption.
Géraud & Elsa work by hand in an extremely careful manner with the grapes without unnecessary intervention in the cellar resulting in these very personal volcanic wines.
Lieu-dit recommends
Below are our suggestions for wines that are not necessary similar, but stylistically fits some of the same markers as the wine you are currently looking at. For each of the producers we work with, we have tried to answer the question: "If you like the wines from this producer, which other wines from our portfolio would be something you would enjoy?".
