Absurde Génie des Fleurs
The young couple Miha and Tom make extremely refreshing and elegant wines near Bédarieux in the south of France under the name Absurde Génie des Fleurs. Their first vintage was 2016, the production is microscopic and as low-tech as anything can get. All vineyard work is done manually, and the cellar itself is some of the most austere we have seen to date. Miha and Tom are very firm in their belief that wine should be made from grapes and nothing else. Sulphur and other forms of additives are banned. Absurd Génie des Fleurs make a series of very expressive wines that are emptied surprisingly fast, but never appear one-dimensional.
Lieu-dit recommends
Below are our suggestions for wines that are not necessary similar, but stylistically fits some of the same markers as the wine you are currently looking at. For each of the producers we work with, we have tried to answer the question: "If you like the wines from this producer, which other wines from our portfolio would be something you would enjoy?".
