Antoine Lienhardt
Antoine is a fourth-generation winemaker from the Guyot-Lienhardt family domain in Comblanchien. Since taking over the domain in 2011, he has introduced several very ambitious initiatives to elevate the wines to an impressively high level. The work in the vineyard follows biodynamic principles and has been fully ECOCERT-certified since 2018. In 2015, the tractor was replaced by a horse, and Antoine has planted trees in the vineyards to shield them from nearby neighbors who have chosen a less conscientious approach to the work in the vineyard.
The quality of the harvested grapes allows Antoine to work with 100% whole clusters and zero added sulphur during the vinification. Gentle maceration without a lot of extraction, no additives, fining or filtration, and no use of new casks is the way forward for Antoine Lienhardt. He makes wines that perfectly balance a classic, clean and serious expression while still being straightforward and easy to drink.
