Agricola Gaia
Agricola Gaia is a collaboration between Gianluca Ravizza and Eric Narioo (Les Caves de Pyrene) in the hilly landscape of Monferrato in Piedmont. The farm’s 30 hectares was originally only the home of apple and stone fruit orchards, but now also includes vineyards surrounded by forest on the higher slopes.
The Barbara vineyard, which is over a century old, is called La Tina and is today the home of over 30-year-old vines, which have been abandoned for 15 years. In addition, there are also vineyards with the local varieties Grignolino, Baratuciat and Slarina. Brich means top of the hill in Piedmontese which is of course a reference to the elevated vineyards.
The vinification follows a very old-fashioned method, including fermentation and aging in cement tanks. In addition, no added yeast, no fining or filtration and only a minimal addition of sulphur is used before bottling to stabilize the wine. The style of the wine is fruity, pure and precise making it appeal to the vast majority of people while offering great value for money.
Lieu-dit recommends
Below are our suggestions for wines that are not necessary similar, but stylistically fits some of the same markers as the wine you are currently looking at. For each of the producers we work with, we have tried to answer the question: "If you like the wines from this producer, which other wines from our portfolio would be something you would enjoy?".
