Burgundy

The Boisson-Vadot family can be traced back more than 200 years in Meursault, but it is particularly since 2017 – when Anne and Pierre began bottling under their own names – that the quality has taken a big step forward. The siblings are now firmly at the helm, with their father Bernard acting as a trusted mentor. Pierre also studied with Raphaël Coche, and an exchange of ideas on philosophy and vinification is still ongoing.

The wines are strikingly pure with depth, minerality and finesse, and the style is classic Burgundy: direct press, extended élevage and two years in barrel. Oak is present, but measured, as the top cuvées rarely see more than 25–30% new wood with a lower proportion for the smaller appellations.

For the reds, the grapes are destemmed or vinified with a moderate proportion of whole bunches. Gentle maceration over 15–20 days with pigeage and predominantly older barrels defines the approach. The result is a classical profile, albeit in a slightly lighter register than textbook Pommard.
