Les Foulards Rouges

Languedoc

Les Foulards Rouges was founded in 2002 by Jean-François Nicq and comprises 14 hectares of land located in Montesquieu-des-Albères in Languedoc not far from the Spanish border. Considering that the wines of the area often appear quite full-bodied and high in alcohol, Jean-François manages to make extremely juicy and easily drinkable wines. Low yields, north-facing vineyards, cool sea breezes from the Mediterranean, surrounding forest areas and biodiversity help to explain the quality of the yield at Les Foulards Rouges. In the cellar, Jean-François works with macération carbonique and no added sulfur, fining or filtration.

Jean-Francois lives together with Laurence Manya Krief – the woman behind Domaine Yoyo – and the couple has been making wine in the same cellar since 2013.

For each of the producers we work with, we have tried to answer the question: "If you like the wines from this producer, which other wines from our portfolio would be something you would enjoy?".
