Maï Roblin Bazin

Burgundy

Maï Roblin Bazin was born and raised in the wine country between Meursault and Beaune in Burgundy, but does not come from a winemaking family. Although 2022 was her debut vintage, the quality of the wines and the tiny quantities produced have already made Maï’s wines extremely sought-after, and we are therefore very excited to have been allocated a small share.

Maï Roblin Bazin insists on growing her own grapes rather than buying grapes. After a thorough search, she started small with a single parcel in Juliénas, which she has since supplemented with vineyards in Burgundy, all farmed and tended with meticulous care. In the cellar, Maï works with extraordinary attention to detail, patience and precision, using whole-bunch fermentation.

Her Beaujolais is deep, serious and structured, yet remarkably easy to drink. It is about as far from thirst-quenching Beaujolais as you can get, and yet you constantly find yourself wanting to take another sip. Her Burgundies are made with the confidence of someone who has been doing it for decades. They are classic, precise expressions of Burgundy, but with plenty of energy and a distinctly personal touch. We receive very few bottles from Maï, which we try to distribute as fairly as possible.

Lieu-dit recommends

Below are our suggestions for wines that are not necessary similar, but stylistically fits some of the same markers as the wine you are currently looking at. For each of the producers we work with, we have tried to answer the question: "If you like the wines from this producer, which other wines from our portfolio would be something you would enjoy?".
