Simon Rouillard
In 2018, Simon Rouillard moved to Anjou after working for Evelyne and Pascal Clairet at Domaine de la Tournelle in Jura, among others. This was also his first vintage of purchased grapes, which he gets from growers such as Toby Bainbridge and Domaine de la Grande Gauterie. Simon insists on buying high quality grapes and that the farmers work organically in the vineyards.
Today he also owns two hectares of land in Anjou with Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chenin, where the 2019 vintage became his first. Simon Rouillard makes unmanipulated wines with low extraction without added sulphur and the style is light, juicy and vibrant.
