Lamoresca
Filippo Rizzo makes irresistible, elegant and atypical wines on an elevated plateau about 450 meters above sea level in the middle of no man’s land in Sicily with 50 kilometers to the nearest winegrower. The farm is about 11 acres, but just under five of them are cultivated with vines. The vineyards are certified organic, and in the cellar, Filippo finds his own path in the effort to make light, cool and low-alcoholic wines. He does not like dogmas and is not a fan of the term natural wine. But that does not change the fact that Lamoresca produces some of the purest and most unmanipulated expressions of local grape varieties. This especially goes for Frappato, which is called Nerocapitano in the local dialect.
