Anders Frederik Steen & Anne Bruun Blauert

Anders Frederik Steen & Anne Bruun Blauert have made impressive meteoric careers as winemakers and to this day makes some of the most coveted wines within its genre. After leaving Denmark, Anders started as négociant in 2013 together with Jura winemaker Jean-Marc Brignot, but in 2017 Anders took the plunge, moved to Valvignères in Ardèche and established himself as a winemaker running the business with his wife Anne Bruun Blauert.

The couple continue to buy grapes from Laurent Bannwarth in Alsace and Gèrald Oustric in Ardèche but have also planted new vines themselves to not be dependent on buying grapes in the future. Anders Frederik Steen’s cellar work is low-tech to say the least. The grapes are destemmed by hand and pressed using an old hand-operated vertical press. Cultured yeast, fining, filtration, sulphur and other additives are banned from production.
